Books for Kindergarteners
The first formal phase of our Kittery Reads Project was encouraging family reading for students entering kindergarten.
Beginning in 2016 with the help of a grant from The Rotary Foundation, every year in August/September, our club members gave each incoming kindergartener at Mitchell School a new book for them to read with their families.
Except during Covid restrictions, we were able to set up a table and meet with the incoming kids. What a joy it has been to see their faces when given their very own new book!
